Test Mode Settings

Test Mode lets you place your Gateway account into a testing state where transactions do not reach your credit card or check processors. No real charges occur, and customers will not see any activity. This mode is designed for safely testing Gateway features and integrations.

What Happens in Test Mode

When Test Mode is enabled:

  • All transactions run as test-only
  • Virtual Terminal, eCheck, Recurring, Customer Vault, and other Gateway features operate in test mode
  • No transactions are sent to processors
  • No live charges appear on customer accounts
  • Activity is recorded internally for testing and review

This is especially useful when testing:

  • Website or API integrations
  • Transaction flows and amounts
  • Reporting and system behavior

Enable Test Mode

  1. Go to Test Mode Settings
  2. Click Enable Test Mode
  3. Confirm activation by checking for the Test Mode banner at the top of the Gateway

You can click the banner for additional details about Test Mode.

Disable Test Mode

  1. Return to Test Mode Settings
  2. Click Disable Test Mode to resume live processing

Important:
Any transactions, subscriptions, or Customer Vault records created in Test Mode do not carry over to live mode.

Clear Test Data

To remove test-only data:

  1. Go to Flush Test Transactions
  2. Choose what to delete:
    • All test data, or
    • Data older than 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days
  3. Click Flush Transactions

Only test data is removed. Live data is not affected.
