IP Restriction Settings
IP Restrictions let you control which IP addresses or host names are allowed to access your Merchant Control Panel and your API. This feature is off by default.
When enabled, IP Restrictions create a whitelist. Only the IPs or host names you add will be able to log in or connect.
What IP Restrictions Can Control
You can allow access separately for:
- Control Panel access (logging into the Gateway)
- API access (connections made through integrations)
The Gateway will also display your current IP address and host name, with quick links to add them to the whitelist.
How to Set Up IP Restrictions
- Go to IP Restrictions Settings in the Gateway
- Review your current IP address and host name shown on the page
- Click to add your current IP/host to the whitelist
- Choose what access it should have:
- Control Panel, API, or both
- Save the entry
At this point, the feature may still be off, so nothing changes yet.
Enable IP Restrictions
Once you toggle IP Restrictions on, only whitelisted IPs and host names will be able to access your account.
Because this is a whitelist, you should only enable it if:
- Your login location uses a stable IP address (or known host name)
- You have added every location that needs access (office, home, VPN, developers, integrations)
If you enable IP Restrictions without adding the right IPs first, you can lock yourself out of the Gateway or break API connections.
